Lovin those bow ties

I've really been having fun with these little bow ties! I've finished hand piecing the center of my little quilt, now what do I do for the border?

I had some wonderful Jo Morton fabrics arrive in my mailbox yesterday and I think I want to use one of these for the border.

Here are my options...what do you think?
Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

I was thinking Option 2 before I took the pictures, but now that I see them I'm leaning more towards Option 1, however, I like the idea of the gold as well! Oh help!

I am lovin' these bow ties too... not sure about no.3 I like no.1 myself.. but hey, I am a dumb blonde! LOL (It says' natural blonde on the box and I am stickin' with that)

Cute bow ties! I like no. 1, it makes the bows pop the best. #2 is okay but the pattern takes more away from the bows and #3 is a nice color but in the picture doesn't do much for the bows...maybe a skinny black inner border if you want to use the gold? JMHO

I agree with you no.1 really enhances the quilt.
no 2 is too busy in mho and no. 3 love that fabric and color but not for this quilt!
go with your instincts.
chose 1

Those little bow ties are wonderful. I think #1 is perfect for them!

No question in my mind. I immediately selected option 1 and even after taking a closer look, I still prefer #1.

I'll have to agree with the rest, #1 is the best option. #2 is the right shade but too busy and takes your eye away from the wonderful work you did on those bow ties! #3 a pretty color but not for this quilt.

P.S. I found your blog through Quilt Bug. You do lovely work!

Ahum, I fear I'm no help, but I like option #2! I think that's a nice, 'surprise' border. It looks so fresh ...
LOVE your bow ties.

Greetings, Carolien

I love the Jo Morton fabrics and am making my Orange Crush with some of mine! I like the first border photo!

I can doubt about borders forever, have you decided yet? Think I would go for nr 1

how about an inner border, about 1-1/2 wide of the gold then the darker #1 forthe outter border, or switch them, dark for inner and gold for outer?

Hi, Debbie, good seeing you at Little Quilts yesterday. Sort of interesting, I have your blog on my Bloglines, but discovered it has not been updating your new posts. So I got caught up. LOVE that hexagon piece and enjoyed seeing it in person yesterday.

I have some of number 1 in olive green and I really love the pattern, so I'm voting for that one. It seems like just about everyone likes that one the best anyway :)

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier - I'm a little behind in reading my favorite blogs. What did you decide about the border for your cute bow-ties?
