And now for something different...
Now that the Inklingo hexagons are pieced and the Little Bow Tie is being quilted, are you wondering what is in my little hand stitching tin? Well, maybe not but I couldn't stand for my little tin to be empty so what else to do? Do you remember this picture? Of course you do!
And here it is ... filled with little tiny half inch hexagons on their way to becoming a version of the lovely quilt in the above picture (this is in Australian Patchwork and Quilting, Vol 16, No 6, February 2008 by the way). They call it Insanity but I am sane, truly I am! 
I decided to pull from my abundant stash of 1930s reproductions and related prints. I'm using unbleached muslin for the background and either a blue or green solid instead of the salmon pink border in the original. Needless to say, this will be a very long term project. But it's perfect for my little take along tin!
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it...I'm not insane, I'm just a quilter!

I love the way adding the two extra hexagons top and bottom changes the shape - much more modern looking.
I love this quilt! I'm also thinking of doing one like it...maybe much smaller as I haven't done any EPP yet. Do you use precut papers or do you make your own? Goodluck on yours!

Yes we are all insane in a good way. I am an Inklingo user which is a program which allows you to print those hexaons right on the paper. I am not affiliated yada yada.Google it!
What a wonderful quilt! Yours will be gorgeous when done! I am finally hand quilting my paperpieced grandmothers flower garden that took me years to do. But, like you said, a great take along project!
Oh, I am SO glad to know someone else is going to do this!! But I'm waiting for an Inklingo collection with the half-inch hexagons! And I've started setting aside fabrics for it -- it will be all shabby chic with different white on whites.
What are you using for your hexagons? I like this pattern more now than the first time I saw it. If I were doing it I might have to do it with the one inch plastic hexagons since I have several packages of them now. I have finished and pieced together 17 of them now, but since I think I need about 90 for the size I want to make I still have lots to go!

I want to make this quilt too!!! I even have some papers and tons and tons of fabrics cut into squares all ready to use - woo hoo! Seems like there a few of us ready for the Loony Bin LOL.
